How to call XCel Energy: use the toll free number below to speak to a real customer service agent. Get help with your account, report power out, bill pay, etc. When you call, you will be asked the questions below.

  • If your calling about your home or apartment, press 1.
  • To report a natural gas leak, smell, or other gas problem, press 1.
  • If you are calling about a power outage, downed wire, street light, or any other electrical problem, press 2.
  • To report a power outage or for a outage update, press 1.
    • To report a downed or sparking wire, press 2.
    • For dim or flickering lights, press 3.
    • To report a street light problem, press 4.
    • For call before you dig information, or other power problem, press 5.
    • To repeat these options, press 7.
    • To return to the main menu, press 9.
  • Billing and Payments, press 3.
    • To make a payment, press 1.
    • For balance information, bill payment history, and duplicate bills, press 2.
    • If your service is disconnected or for payment arrangements, press 3.
    • For other Billing and payment matters, press 5.
    • To repeat these options, press 7.
    • To return to the main menu, press 9.
  • For moving or new construction, press 4.
    • To transfer existing service to a new address, press 1.
    • To start a new service, press 2.
    • To stop or discontinue service, press 3.
    • For new construction, press 4.
    • For all other service requests, press 5.
